DR. Natalie Nesterenko

 

Director

Natalie is a passionate choreographer, dancer, educator, artistic director, and Doctor of Chiropractic. Natalie was a Toronto Argonaut Cheerleader for five seasons, and an Argonaut captain/choreographer for two seasons. She was honourably selected to captain the East CFL dream team for two consecutive Grey Cup Championship Games (2008, 2009), and selected to assist in teaching the Stereos’ “Summer Girl” choreography at the 2009 Grey Cup. Natalie has been featured on Breakfast Television, and ET Canada. Argo Access featured her in a segment called “The Fighting Cheerleader” after she won the MMA bantam belt at the Evolution MMA tournament. Natalie has worked with artists such as New Kids on the Block at the MMVAs, performed in videos for Mya, and Kardinal Offishall, and danced at consecutive Grey Cup Championship for artists including: Nelly Furtado, Lenny Kravitz, Black Eyed Peas, Mobile, and The Stereos. Natalie’s students have been featured on The Next Step, have danced in the MMVA’s for Avril Lavigne, performed at WE day, performed for The Raptors Junior Dance Pack. Notably, two students were selected in 2016 to dance for Justin Bieber at his concert in Toronto (only 4 children were selected per concert). 

Natalie has choreographed for The Bazaar Dance Showcase, The Toronto’s Original Choreographers Ball, Smile For The Cause, The Toronto Argonaut Cheerleaders and Toronto Rock Cheerleaders. She was selected in 2012 to choreograph for the Toronto Rock Cheer Team auditions. Natalie has co-choreographed and performed in a video with “So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s” Natalli Reznik and Natalie Lyons, and has had the honour of performing in a piece by “So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s:” Luther Brown at a CFL game. Natalie is the Director of FACTION, a Toronto based urban dance company. Faction has placed 3rd at World of Dance Toronto in 2012, 2nd at The BEATDOWN in 2013, and has won the BEATDOWN two consecutive years in 2014 and 2015. Natalie has been honoured with 36 career choreography awards (as of 2016), countless overalls, numerous dance-off titles (at On The Floor and Starbeat), and a third place finish in an online completion that included over 7000 entries (2014): Chaplain. In 2015, Natalie’s routines were nominated in an online competition that included 8000 entries: 5th place Sibling Rivalry (350 entries). 5th place Street Life (450 entries),5th Place overall: The Explorer (50 entries). 8th overall: Polyjuice Potion (40 entries). Most Entertaining of 8000 entries 2015: 2nd place The Explorer. 

Natalie is incredibly thankful to her studio director Kelly Rothnie for allowing her creative freedom and autonomy. Further, she is thankful to the dancers in her crew FACTION, and individuals from the Toronto dance scene, who have shared their amazing talent and inspired her to continue both teaching and learning.
